We have put together a dedicated team of experienced International Mindfulness Meditation Teachers and Trainers to support you on your amazing journey. Together we will help you build confidence quickly and easily with the help of individual coaching, feedback, personal and professional development. Mentoring is also included both before you arrive on your course, and ongoing as a graduate. Ongoing professional continued development courses (CPD's) as outlined by the Yoga Alliance Professionals and the Mindfulness Meditation Good Practice Guidelines are also available. Bodhin Philip Woodward Director of Training Mindful Academy Solterreno

Bodhin Philip Woodward, Bsc. SYT: has extensive experience of mindfulness practices and teaching. He teaches Mindfulness Based Approaches (MBAs) to help prevent relapse into depression and to manage stress and anxiety. He also meets the requirements of the Good Practice Guidelines for Trainers of Mindfulness-based Teachers published by the UK Network of Mindfulness-based Teacher Trainers

Bodhin founded Mindful Academy with Kathy Ward in 2012 and has helped more than 130 students graduate as MBSR Mindfulness Teachers, Accredited MBSR Teachers (AMT). He facilitates supervision to many of those graduates.

Bodhin was trained in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in 2005 by Dr Paramabandhu Groves, an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist, at the Breathing space in the London Buddhist Center. He has taught the classic MBCT/MBSR course more than 70 times during the last 10 years to several hundred pupils. He teaches it in the 8 week format and also in a 6 day intense retreat format in his own retreat center in Spain, Solterreno.

Bodhin is now also an accredited Breathworks Mindfulness Trainer; Living Well with Pain, Stress and Illness and Mindfulness for Stress. "This programme of practice and training is part of my commitment to deepening my own practice and ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the training I offer." He has been practicing Mindfulness on a daily basis since 1985.

Kathy Ward Director of Training Mindful Academy International

Kathy Ward, SYT, ERYT 500, PYT500, AMT, Dip.C.Hyp.NLP.CBT. Kathy has over 37 years personal practice of meditation and yoga and 35 years professional training and development experience. She is a Senior International Mindfulness MBSR Teacher, MBSR Teacher Trainer, MBCT ca Teacher, MBSR Supervisor, Senior Mindful Yoga Teacher and Trainer and Yoga Therapist. She teaches Mindfulness-based Approaches (MBAs) to people all over the world living with stress, anxiety, depression and illness who wish to learn how to engage fully in the present moment, calm the mind and escape unhelpful automatic reactions.

Kathy trained in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (CMRP) School of Psychology, Bangor University. Admission to the programme is limited to those with extensive professional experience and a solid meditation practice. Since setting up Mindful Yoga Academy in 2010 and Mindful Academy in 2012, Kathy has trained more than 340 students to teach MBSR and Mindful Yoga. 

She is a member of the UK Network of Mindfulness Teachers, meets the requirements of the Good Practice Guidelines for Trainers of Mindfulness-based Teachers and the Good Practice Guidelines for Supervisors published by the UK Network of Mindfulness-based Teacher Trainers.

Sheena Burke Assistant Trainer

Dr. Sheena Burke is a Chartered Psychologist with qualifications in clinical and educational psychology. She is a qualified MBSR teacher with the Mindful Academy and a .bFoundations Teacher with the Mindfulness in Schools project. With over 20 years experience working in health and education settings, Sheena offers mindfulness training to adults in her local community through her private practice, Discovering Mindfulness.

She has also introduced mindfulness training as part of her work on the educational psychology doctoral training and other post-graduate programmes at the School of Education, University College Dublin. For Sheena, mindfulness is the gift that just keeps on giving! The qualities of curiosity and kindness are the gems of this simple and practical pathway and she enjoys discovering with others how mindfulness practices can help each of us in our everyday moments.

Sheena adheres to Best Practice Guidelines for Mindfulness Teachers by practising mindfulness on a daily basis, receiving regular supervision with a senior teacher and attending continuing professional development opportunities regularly including week-long silent retreats, day and weekend retreats.

Claire Griffin Assistant Trainer

Claire Griffin is a Talent Acquisition & Development Consultant and Mindfulness Teacher. She is a graduate of the Mindful Academy, Solterreno, Spain, a Mindfulness at Work (WorkplaceMT) Verified Trainer and a qualified Coach with a Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching.  

Claire teaches the 8-week MBSR Course in Sussex, UK and has also co-taught the Course with Bodhin on the 11 day Mindfulness & Yoga Retreat at Solterreno. She also regularly facilitates Mindfulness Taster Sessions and Workshops with  businesses in the UK Digital industry.  

She complies with the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers Good practice guidelines for teaching mindfulness-based courses and is registered on the Mental Health Foundation website Be Mindful.

Tuire Niinimaki Assistant Trainer

Tuire Niinimäki is a Life & Personal Development Coach, NLP Master Practitioner, Yoga Alliance certified Yoga Teacher and a Mindfulness Teacher, graduated from Mindful Academy, Solterreno, Spain. She is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). 

After an international career in Brand Development Marketing Tuire has dedicated her time to working with people and supporting them in finding their true potential in life. She believes that whatever one’s goals in life are or whatever changes one wants to make, it all starts with Mindfulness skills; awareness, acceptance and connecting with oneself on a deeper level.

Tuire’s Mindfulness practise started in 2009 when recovering from a burnout and her practise has continued and deepened ever since. She adheres to Best Practice Guidelines for Mindfulness Teachers with her daily practise and by receiving regular supervision with a senior teacher as well as attending continuing professional development opportunities.

Tuire works both in The Netherlands and Finland where she teaches mindfulness based tools and strategies that enhance individual and work-place performance and well-being.

Jackie Albert Assistant Trainer

Jackie Albert, BAhons, PGDip, Jackie is a Mindfulness and mindful yoga teacher based in Valencia, Spain. She previously worked for ten years as a Speech and Language Therapist in the NHS, UK, working with people with stroke and neurodegenerative conditions and with children in schools and community clinics.

In 2014, after qualifying as a mindfulness teacher with the Mindful Academy and Respira Vida Breathworks, she established Mindfulness con Pasión (mindfulnessconpasion.com) with a colleague and friend. Mindfulness con Pasión run 8 week mindfulness courses, introductory workshops and day retreats all over Valencia, Alicante and beyond. Mindfulness con Pasión are currently introducing mindfulness in schools, working with teachers, children, teenagers and parents. Jackie is also a qualified .b and PAWS b teacher with Mindfulness in Schools (MiSP).

Jackie is passionate about teaching Mindfulness which she claims changed her life, both inwardly and then outwardly. She is a practicing Buddhist with the Triratna Buddhist order.

She complies with the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers Good practice guidelines for teaching mindfulness-based courses with a daily mindfulness practice and attending silent retreats.

Helen Grain Assistant Trainer

Helen Grain has been running Mindfulness Based Interventions in mainstream settings as well as in workplace and leadership contexts since she qualified as a Mindfulness teacher with Mindful Academy, Solterreno, Spain.

Based on her over 15 years of personal practice of Mindfulness and related disciplines (Yoga and meditation), Helen now leads individuals through the 8-week programme, tasters and retreats.

She also shares her knowledge and insights with global corporations within the pharmaceutical, fashion & retail, aerospace and management consulting industries, to mention but a few.

After a life-long career in banking, Helen has found her niche in sharing what she is passionate about – Mindfulness.

In 2016 she published her first book in Spanish – “Mindfulness, la magia del momento”.
