Helen Eveleigh
Qualified MBSR Teacher with Mindful Academy Solterreno
Helen is a qualified MBSR teacher and holds a Certificate in Foundations of Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness (accredited by the International Mindfulness & Meditation Alliance).
Helen is fascinated by the emerging neuroscience & the synthesis between this & the ancient spiritual practices. She has spent much of the last 20 years studying, practicing & sharing learnings from both of these ‘traditions’.
On the spiritual side, her first taste of both mindfulness & loving kindness was from the forest monks in Thailand. She has since studied with Shambhala & Insight meditation & has attended several vipassana courses. She is also a qualified yoga & laughter yoga teacher. On the science side, Helen studied ‘Happiness & Positive Psychology’ at RMIT University (Melbourne). She established Action for Happiness Australia, where she led courses & events with global neuroscientists & wellbeing practitioners.
Helen now lives in Auroville (an intentional community in Tamil Nadu, India) where she runs MBSR courses in both 8 week and 1 week format and guides mindfulness-based workshops and retreats.
