Mindful Academy MBSR Teacher and Connected Kids Tutor
I am a Connected Kids Tutor and trained with Mindful Academy Solterreno to teach adults MBSR (Mindfulness-based stress reduction).
I am originally from Germany but have lived in the UK for almost 15 years. I am an actress and have always been very interested in meditation. Since the acting industry is very competitive, fast-paced and unstable, I was always looking for ways to support myself through that to find some balance and inner calm.
After attending an acting course that included meditation I incorporated the practice in my life and very quickly felt the benefits in my acting, my approach to the industry but most importantly in my life in general. It helped me overcome anxieties and stresses, manage negative thinking and worrying and improve relationships and my overall well-being and enjoyment of life.
After several years of personal practice I initially trained to teach children meditation and became a Connected Kids tutor. When I came across mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and attended the 8-week standard programme I was impressed with the way the course helped me deepen my practice and offered a very clear understanding of how the mind works. MBSR was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and his colleagues at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in 1979 and it is now taught all over the world.
This led me to train to teach MBSR with Mindful Academy Solterreno. My practice continues to deepen and develop as I practice and teach this unique way of exploring our inner world and the world around us.
I follow the mindfulness teacher good practice guidelines and am particularly interested in combining acting skills with mindfulness practice.
