Originally from Croatia, I left about 20 years ago to study Bachelor in Psychology in the USA, and then a Master’s degree in Development Studies in the Netherlands. My interest in mindfulness started about 10 years ago when I took the MBSR course as a participant. I experienced burnout in my office job and I was hungry for some change, some other purpose for living. Mindfulness has opened that door for me. With time I got more into practice, and I also became more curious about the scientific background of mindfulness. Then I started the doctoral program also in the Netherlands, investigating mindfulness, psychological well-being, and cultural adjustment. I am currently finalizing the research manuscripts on this topic.
Along with the research study, I am a self-employed psychosocial specialist/coach and I teach Kids Yoga and Mindfulness at the Vienna International School in Vienna, Austria.
Being part of Mindful Academy Solterreno teaching programs TT1 and TT2 has brought me so much clarity, and peacefulness in self-reflection, on a level that was beyond any expectations prior to starting the programs. I am grateful to all the teachers and other participants that reaffirmed my journey in MBSR and mindfulness in general.
